Tony – Our First Children’s Ambassador

Tony became our very first Children’s Ambassador this year. A bilateral amputee, he lost both legs above the knee as a toddler due to abuse from his birth parents.

Last year, Tony underwent surgery to lengthen one of his legs to improve his mobility. During his recovery, we had the privilege of designing and making pyjamas and shorts just for him. Throughout his journey, Tony demonstrated incredible determination, strength, and a true “can do” attitude.

An inspiring role model, Tony continues to motivate children facing medical treatment, health conditions, or disabilities. To date, he has raised an astonishing £2 million for charity, helping countless children through their own challenges.

We are proud and honoured to have Tony as part of the Well Cool Clothing family.

Message from Paula, Tony's mum

Tony is so happy to be an ambassador for the amazing Well Cool Clothing! We were incredibly lucky that Kirsty spotted Tony on morning TV,  talking about his upcoming hip surgery and leg-lengthening operation in Sheffield. With the external fixator he’d need to wear for up to a year, everyday clothing was going to be a real challenge.

But then came a wonderful surprise; Kirsty sent him specially designed easy access hospital Pyjamas with clever openings and Velcro fastenings, making it easy and comfortable for Tony during his hospital stay. After surgery, they made custom shorts to fit perfectly around his frame that he wore for just under a year, helping him feel confident and comfortable while out and about.

Tony (& Paula) are part of our group working on an Accessible & Adaptive Children's Clothing range. It will launch later this year.

One year on & it's great to see the amazing progress Tony has made!
